Word Among Us: What is one of your favorite activities during the summer months?

Lorene Duquin: I love walking outside, riding my bicycle, and catching up on reading during the summer.

Word Among Us: What book are you reading right now?

Lorene Duquin:I am taking a break from writing something new this summer. The Catholic Grandparents Handbook keeps me connected to grandparent events and activities.

Word Among Us: What are you looking forward to?

Lorene Duquin: This is an event-filled summer for me and for everyone in our family. In May we had my granddaughter's Confirmation. My other granddaughter was her sponsor. (see blog photo).

In June we have my grandson's First Communion. The following week, my granddaughter graduates from high school. I will also be doing a talk for grandparents on bereavement in June.

We have a family reunion in July with cousins from my father's side of the family.

In August, we watch with joy as our granddaughter goes off to college.

In September we have another family reunion with cousins on my mother's side of the family. I will also be conducting a workshop for Catholic grandparents in the Diocese of Buffalo.

It will be a busy summer. I have a lot to look forward to. I have a lot to be grateful for!
