Archbishop William E. Lori

Archbishop William E. Lori was named Archbishop of Baltimore by Pope Benedict XVI in 2012. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky, and was ordained to the priesthood in 1977. Named an auxiliary bishop of Washington in 1995, he became the Bishop of Bridgeport, Connecticut in 2001. For many years Archbishop Lori also served as supreme chaplain to the Knights of Columbus. A courageous voice for religious liberty, he is chairman of the Ad Hoc Committee on Religious Liberty of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.
